Bautista shut down for season

 For the second year in a row Jose Bautista will finish his season on the disabled list, as the Blue Jays announced Wednesday he will be shut down for the remainder of the season.

"Not exactly the news i was hoping to announce...its a bittersweet day (injury is healing but not enough games left in season to come back)," Bautista said via Twitter.


Bautista led the majors in homers in 2010 and '11. This season in 118 games, he was hitting .259 with 28 homers and 73 runs-batted in.Last year, the four-time all-star and two-time home-run champion's season ended with left wrist surgery.
