Colin Kaepernick delivers to lead 49ers past Packers

and now for something completely different cast

Colin Kaepernick rarely utters anything pointed or emotionally charged.
He offered a clear message to Clay Matthews and the Packers' defense after delivering Green Bay another beating: "If intimidation is your game plan, I hope you have a better one."

Kaepernick took a late, out-of-bounds hit from Matthews in the second quarter and showed no signs of slowing down, throwing for a career-high 412 yards and three touchdowns, with 13 completions to Anquan Boldin in San Francisco's season-opening 34-28 victory Sunday.

Boldin's sensational San Francisco debut helped keep his team on quite a roll in what has evolved into a fierce NFC rivalry. And Vernon Davis did his part in a prolific passing game led by Kaepernick.
From Super Bowl champion Baltimore to contender again with another coach named Harbaugh, Boldin was unstoppable. He finished with 208 yards receiving and a 10-yard touchdown.

Rafael Nadal sweeps past Tommy Robredo to extend

Rafael Nadal sweeps past

Rafael Nadal sweeps past Tommy Robredo to extend his perfect 2013 record on hard-courts and reach the U.S. Open semifinal vs. Richard Gasquet.
Based on the way Nadal is playing at the moment, it is hard to believe many players could beat him. A year after skipping the U.S. Open because of a bad left knee, Nadal powered his way back to the semifinals by overwhelming 19th-seeded Tommy Robredo 6-0, 6-2, 6-2 on Wednesday night.
He romped through the first set in just 22 minutes on Wednesday, allowing Robredo only five points, and was 2-0 up in the second before the 31-year-old got on the board.

A reporter asked Nadal whether he thinks he could beat Djokovic if they meet in Monday’s final.

“If I don’t play (a) great match against Richard,” Nadal replied, “I will see the final on TV.”
